Three lessons from Manchester United vs Arsenal at Old Trafford.

Manchester once again showed yesterday that they could hold their own against the top dogs in the league as they earned a 2-2 draw against a high spirited Arsenal. We will consider some take home from the game.

Jose not afraid to drop big stars.

Jose did not become the managers he is today by greasing the ego of superstars that are not putting in good performance in games. The former Chelsea manager showed yesterday that he is capable of dropping any player he sees might not contribute enough to the team. Paul Pogba and Romelu Lukaku were both left on the bench. Starting Matteo Darnian is the game was a very big decision that eventually paid off. Anthony Martial up front ahead of Lukaku is one that worked in the game. if this kind of performance are shown every game, it won’t take time before Pogba and Lukaku lose their shirt in the first team.

David De Gea becoming a liability.

David De-Gea for the second match day making school boy error leading to goal. The first Arsenal goal was a goal that could have easily been avoided. This kind of errors are not meant to be seen from a player of his quality. All that is expected from him to keep them in the game but he was further moving them in the opposite direction. He needs to be doing better.

United still far off the pace.

The draw means that United are still eight points off top four and eighteen points off league leader, Manchester City. This is not look good just 15 games into the season. United have to start getting the wins and close the gap. Despite unbeaten in last four, they have only picked four points from available 12. The games will be coming thick and fast now and results have to start getting better.
