Jose Mourinho’s men have been handed a major boost in their pursuit of long term Manchester United’s target Antoinne Griezmann. The highly rated attacker was rumored to be moving to Manchester United in the just concluded transfer window but the player decided to remain at Atletico Madrid due to personal reasons.
The Spanish team was handed a transfer ban and Manchester United suffered a setback in signing the player as he signed a new deal at the club till 2022 with his release clause moving from €100 million to €200 million.
However, reports in Spanish media outlet Mundo Deportivo has today revealed that Manchester United have been handed a small glimpse of hope when it comes to signing the player as his release clause has once again been reduced to €100 million although there are reports claiming that the Spanish club reached an agreement with the player to double his wages just so he could remain in Spain.
The ban placed on the club will be lifted at the end of the year but reports in the above mentioned media has revealed that the player is itching to try fresh challenges elsewhere and with Jose Mourinho disappointed over United’s failure to sign Gareth Bale or Ivan Perisic, he could turn to French attacker Griezmann as his release clause has been altered.
