There are reports in the Daily Star claiming that Leicester City’s attacking midfielder Riyad Mahrez wanted a deadline day move to Manchester United and it is also reported that the 26 year old player was granted permission to leave his country’s squad on Thursday just to complete a move away from Leicester City.
It has been revealed that the player’s sudden trip to England was to try and secure a move to Manchester United despite Leicester City not receiving any bid from any club after succeeding in fighting back Italian side AS Roma from signing the player during the early periods of the summer transfer window.
Riyad Mahrez was one of the exceptional players that helped the foxes lift the premier league trophy following his move to Leicester City back in 2014 from French team Le Havre and he has gone on to grab two assists in just three premier league games. The player who grabbed ten goals for Leicester City last season and his representatives were pushing for a move to Manchester United following the red devils failure in signing either Gareth Bale or Ivan Perisic all summer.
Riyad Mahrez was crowned PFA fans player of the year and PFA player’s player of the year winner back in 2016.
