Manchester united manager Jose Mourinho is set to make one last decision whether or not to bring in Victor Lindelof from Benfica in a deal worth about £38m according to reports in the Daily Star.
Victor Lindelof has been heavily linked with a switch to Manchester united but the deal was halted when Manchester united manager Jose Mourinho recently disclosed that he didn’t see the need to bring I and defensive reinforcements.
Reports in the Daily Star have however disclosed that after the sales of French midfielder Morgan Schneiderlin and Dutch attacker Memphis Depay at a combined fee of £45.7m, Manchester united have begun to reconsider if they should complete the deal for Victor Lindelof before the end of the transfer window or wait till the end of the season.
Other reports have revealed that top class agent Jorge Mendes is now involved in the negotiations for the player and that someone is an added advantage for Jose Mourinho and with just a week left before the end of the transfer window, United have not given up hope of breaking into the top four and with the resources at their disposal, why wait till the end of the season?.
If united completes the signing of Victor Lindelof, it will cast doubts over the future Marcos Rojo and Chris Smalling despite Rojo being in an impressive form for the red devils in recent games and with Eric Baily returning to Old Trafford next month, he will certainly retain his place in the first team and also with Lindelof’s huge fee, it is expected that he will play alongside Bailly at the heart of United’s defense.
