Armenian and Manchester united attacker Henrikh Mkhitaryan could be handed another start in Jose Mourinho’s starting line-up following an excellent performance in Manchester United’s 4-0 Europa league victory over Dutch team Feyenoord at Old Trafford on Thursday night according to reports in Manutd.com.
Henrikh Mkhitaryan won the man of the match award after impressing both the fans and manager of Manchester united on his second start under Portuguese boss Jose Mourinho and helped the red devils secure the maximum points and move to the second position of their Europa group table.
The Armenian attacker who completed a switch from Borussia Dortmund to Manchester united in the summer said after Manchester United’s victory that he hopes his performance can earn him a spot in Jose Mourinho’s team and the red devils manager also expressed satisfaction over the 27-year olds performance and hinted the attacker could remain in the starting line-up when West Ham visit Old Trafford on Sunday in a premier league encounter.
Jose Mourinho said that Henrikh Mkhitaryan needs to replicate the same performance he displayed against Feyenoord when they play West Ham on Sunday hinting that the attacker’s confidence has increased and is a step closer towards adapting to the English premier league.
Jose Mourinho claimed the Armenian’s performance on Thursday night gives him the right to feature in the red devils clash with West Ham and he needs to adapt to the aggression and physicality of English premier league football.
Jose Mourinho told Manutd.com ahead of Sunday’s game with West Ham:
“Mkhi needs a little bit more of physicality and aggression and we signed him because he has a high level of technicality. He is bright, intelligent and he understands every game so his performance on Thursday was good”.
