Manchester united manager Jose Mourinho was happy with red devils striker Wayne Rooney for becoming United’s top goal scorer with 250 goals with his goal against Stoke helping united salvage a point from the game but Jose Mourinho admits he was frustrated not to have gotten the desired three points according to reports in Manutd.com.
Speaking after the game Jose Mourinho admitted that a draw is acceptable only if the opposition team played better but in this case, his team dominated the game, created chances, missed chances and scored just one goal and that’s why he isn’t happy with the result.
The Portuguese boss went on to admit that Rooney’s achievement on Saturday was indeed a great one adding that the club will remember this history for many years and he also said that it’s the perfect time for the Englishman to enjoy the moment while everyone else remain focused.
On United’s team spirit, Jose Mourinho told MUTV:
“The team had a good team spirit and there was nothing wrong with the connection between the fans and the players because we all believe that we have to remain strong till the very end. It’s difficult because we scored an own goal and missed a lot of chances but the team spirit was fantastic and that’s all that matters”.
The manager also admitted that Manchester united dominated the game all through hinting that it would be a crime if they had lost the game and he also praised the defenders for keeping Peter Crouch far from David De Gea.
