Armenian midfielder Henrikh Mkhitaryan completed move to Old Trafford in the summer for a fee of £26 million but is yet to establish himself in Jose Mourinho’s team but the Portuguese boss believes the Armenian attack will become a hit at Manchester united.
Jose Mourinho gave examples of players who also experienced slow starts when they arrived at their new clubs. The Portuguese manager highlighted Brazilian winger Willian faced the same issue when he arrived at Stamford Bridge and also Argentine attacker Angel Di Maria had similar issues when he moved to Real Madrid.
“Very soon the issue with Mkhi will be resolved because we all believe in him. Mkhi is a fantastic player but he needs time to become the top player everyone expects him to be but I’m sure things will work out fine for him”…explained Jose Mourinho.
Henrikh Mkhitaryan last played for the red devils in the Manchester derby on September 10 and was substituted off at half time following a poor display in the first 45 minutes.
After his nightmare on September 10, the midfielder has struggled to find his way back in Jose Mourinho’s team and it has sparked rumors claiming the Armenian could be on his way out of Manchester united but Jose Mourinho rubbished the reports hinting that the attacker needs more time.
“Some players can easily adapt and play while other need more time to more time. They need time to get used to the aggression, intensity and competitiveness of every game.
Mkhi had an injury problem that prevented him from playing for a month and when you are out for a month, you have to work towards regaining match fitness and you need a competitive level to achieve that”.
“But Mkhi isn’t injured. He has been training with the rest of the team without any limitations and soon he’ll return to playing but for now, he needs more time”.
