Manchester united found themselves in the sixth position of the premier league table after their 1-1 draw with Arsenal last Saturday and they will be hoping to grab a premier league win when they host West Ham on Sunday at Old Trafford but despite being nine points behind league leaders Chelsea, Jose Mourinho insists his team still have chances of winning the premier league trophy according to reports in Manutd.com
Jose Mourinho expressed satisfaction with his team’s impressive performance that saw them grab a 4-0 victory over Feyenoord in a Europa league group clash and also praised skipper Wayne Rooney and Armenian attacker Henrikh Mkhitaryan for their contributions.
Jose Mourinho has urged his players to get the maximum points and add more pressure on the teams above them when they play West Ham on Sunday with league leaders Chelsea playing bitter rivals Tottenham on Saturday.
Speaking about the possibility of winning the premier league this season, Jose Mourinho gave an example of his premier league success with Chelsea 18 months ago revealing that they recovered points while other teams lost points and that helped them win the trophy.
Talking about luck as he prepares for his next clash with West Ham, Mourinho said:
“In football, there are periods when everything works for you and also when everything goes against you and I know there is a huge gap right now but it isn’t over”.
However, the Portuguese tactician has called on his players to maintain the same focus and approach they had in their 4-0 victory over Feyenoord on Thursday night but the boss admitted that every game is difficult and also encouraged his team to start getting the vital points.
