Former Manchester united midfielder Owen Hargreaves has called on Manchester united manager Jose Mourinho to start giving Armenian attacker Henrikh Mkhitaryan more playing time. Owen Hargreaves warned the Portuguese boss to start playing the attacker or risk finishing in the top four this season.
Henrikh Mkhitaryan once again didn’t feature for the red devils during Saturday’s goalless draw against Burnley despite returning to training five weeks ago and his absence from the united squad has come as a shock to fans of Manchester united all over the world.
Following a goalless draw against newly promoted Burnley on Saturday, Manchester united are now eight in the premier league table and seven points behind fourth place and Owen Hargreaves has warned that Jose Mourinho needs Henrikh Mkhitaryan and English midfielder Michael Carrick if they are to qualify for next season’s UEFA champions league competition.
Speaking to BT sport, Hargreaves said; “United are now eight in the premier league and Jose needs to start playing him (Nkhitaryan). He needs to get his best players back into the team.
So far, the back four is solid and they’ve got the best keeper in the country so I think he needs to play Carrick, Herrera and Pogba in midfield, Mkhitaryan on the right and Rashford on the left”.
“With these players, he has a good team but with the way Jose selects players, I doubt if they can secure a top four finish”.
Henrikh Mkhitaryan who registered 23 goals and 24 assists for Dortmund last season hasn’t featured for the red devils since their 2-1 defeat to Manchester city on September 10 and the Armenian forward is looking forward to playing again and cementing a spot in Jose Mourinho’s first team.
