Manchester united left-back Luke Shaw has given an update on Chris Smalling’s injury hinting that the united centre-back could return in their premier league game against Burnley football club after missing Wednesday’s derby with Manchester city.
Chris Smalling who is Manchester united’s stand-in skipper displayed a below average performance in United’s defeat at Chelsea last Sunday.
The absence of both Chris Smalling and Eric Bailly on Wednesday night forced Jose Mourinho to play with two left footed centre-backs Marcos Rojo and Daley Bind but Luke Shaw is optimistic that their stand-in skipper will be available when the red devils host Burnley at the weekend.
Speaking about Eric Bailly and Chris Smalling’s absence from Wednesday game Luke Shaw admitted both players were missed but also admitted every player has the right to play.
“Chris would be back for Saturday’s game against Burnley. He is ready to play and I am sure of that. Chris is a good defender and it will be good to have him back”.
Burnley is United’s first of their two premier league games before the November international break and the defender insists the red devils need to get maximum points in these games.
“We have two more league games before the international break. We play Burnley at home which is a must win and then we travel to Swansea.
The game against Swansea is going to be a difficult one because we know how organized they are and how difficult it is to play in their stadium. We still have to travel to turkey and play Fenerbache so we have to be ready”.
“It’s time for us to start moving up the premier league table so it is important we get the maximum points in our coming league games”
