Ecuadorian and Manchester United’s versatile player Antonio Valencia has made a promise to return stronger for the red devils after breaking his arm.
The player picked up the arm injury in the red devils 1-0 victory over bitter rivals Manchester city in an EFL cup clash on Wednesday night and is set to be out for six months.
Antonio Valencia who is also going to miss Ecuador’s next qualifying games sent a message to his supporters via his Instagram account and wrote; “Working on my recovery and I’m eager to return and help my teammates. I’m optimistic and I’ll definitely return stronger than before”.
Antonio Valencia’s injury is another blow for Jose Mourinho who also lost Eric Bailly to a knee injury in Manchester United’s defeat at Chelsea and the Ivorian defender is set to be out for two months.
Also, Chris Smalling missed the red devils goalless draw against Burnley on Saturday but Marcos Rojo and Daley Blind showed great partnership in the absence of United’s centre-backs in United’s last two games.
Chris Smalling could feature for the red devils on Thursday against Fenerbache or against Swansea on Saturday. Manchester united manager Jose Mourinho tried signing some defenders before the end of the transfer window in the summer but couldn’t as they failed to offload Marcos Rojo.
Jose Mourinho showed interest in Southampton skipper Jose Fonte and Monacos’s right back defender Fabinho but both players went on to sign new contracts with their respective clubs.
Jose Mourinho could turn to United’s reserve defenders RoShaun Williams and Alex Tuanzebe as the duo have been in great form for the youth team this season.
